Corrective action tracking

Health and safety action tracking software

Most health and safety failures that matter are not unknown risks; they are known risks with an action that was agreed and never finished. Featherstone Safety Hub puts every health and safety action in one list, gives each one a named owner and a due date, reminds the owner before and after it falls due, and records who completed it and how.

Included in every plan from £49 per month. 14-day trial, no card required.

Why actions get lost

Actions come from everywhere: risk assessments, incident investigations, inspections, audits, toolbox talks and management reviews. When each source keeps its own list, in a spreadsheet, an email thread or meeting minutes, nobody can see the whole picture, and overdue items stay invisible until something goes wrong.

How tracking works in Safety Hub

  • One list: every action in one place, whatever produced it, with its source recorded: an incident, an assessment, an inspection or a review.
  • Named owner: each action is assigned to a person, not a team or a role, so responsibility is clear.
  • Priority and due date: critical and high-priority actions stand out, and due dates drive what appears as due soon or overdue.
  • Reminders: owners who are Hub users receive reminder emails about the actions due to them, so follow-up does not depend on someone chasing.
  • Repeating actions: routine checks can repeat on a schedule, so recurring work is generated rather than remembered.
  • Completion record: closing an action records who completed it, when, and a completion note, with evidence in the evidence library.

Completed is not the same as effective

An action marked complete tells you the work was done, not that the risk is now controlled. Good practice is to verify a sample of closed actions, especially those from serious incidents. Safety Hub keeps the completion note, who completed it and when, and the source of the action, so whoever reviews it can see what was intended and what was done.

Visible to management

Overdue actions appear on the dashboard and in the management report, with their owners and due dates, so senior managers can see slippage without asking for an update. The software supports oversight; it does not replace it, and responsibility for the actions stays with the people and organisation concerned.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

What is health and safety action tracking software?

It keeps every health and safety action in one place with an owner, a due date and a status, and shows what is open, due soon and overdue. Featherstone Safety Hub adds reminder emails to owners and a completion record for each action.

Can actions come from incidents and risk assessments?

Yes. Each action records its source, such as an incident, a risk assessment, an inspection or a toolbox talk, so you can see where your open actions come from.

Do owners get reminders?

Yes. Owners who are Hub users receive reminder emails about actions due to them, and overdue actions are highlighted on the dashboard for everyone.

Can we set up recurring checks?

Yes. Repeating actions generate routine checks on a schedule, so recurring work does not rely on memory.

Is action tracking included in every plan?

Yes. The dashboard and action tracking are included in every plan, from Essentials at £49 per month.
