What ISO 14001 implementation involves

ISO 14001:2015 is the international standard for environmental management. Like ISO 45001 it follows the Annex SL structure, but the focus is your environmental aspects and impacts — the ways your activities affect the environment — and the legal and other requirements that apply to them.

Implementation means determining those aspects, putting controls and objectives in place, and evidencing that the system operates. I configure all of it in the Safety Hub's environmental module so your aspects register, legal register and records are live.

From kick-off to certification

A typical ISO 14001 implementation runs over three to six months: a gap assessment (credited against implementation), the system build, a first internal audit and management review to generate records, then support through the certification body's Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits.

ISO 14001 implementation is £2,750–£7,500, scoped to your size, sites and current maturity, covering consultancy and the system build. UKAS-accredited certification body audit fees (typically £2,500–£8,000+ for an SME) are separate. Monthly maintenance from £199/month keeps you audit-ready afterwards. If you also need ISO 45001, an integrated system is around 20% cheaper than implementing both separately.
